REMEMBERING THE DAY THE DOWNTOWN LIBRARY BURNED
Last week marked the 26-year anniversary of the fire that ripped through Downtown LA’s beloved library, theoretically set ablaze by a wannabe hero-turned arsonist villain and destroying centuries of information. Today the Los Angeles Public Library has bounced back with resilience and hosts events from talks with Shepard Fairey to retrospectives on the 1932 Los Angeles Olympic Games, but the feeling is much different than that laid out by Glen Creason in this remembrance of a time long gone up in flames.
