MADE IN L.A. 2012
With signs all over Los Angeles, the Hammer Museum and LAXART have started heavily promoting their first Los Angeles biennial, shortly after Pacific Standard Time finished its rounds and moved to Europe. The exhibition is sprawled out across multiple locations and features new works by 60 artists from the L.A. region. One of these artists is Pearl Hsiung, sister of Think Tank Gallery friend and collaborator Michael Hsiung, who will be a part of our Dude, Monsters! exhibition come July.
Pearl created a large mural at the Hammer Museum in Westwood, displayed on Michael’s blog. The exhibition culminates in the Venice Beach Biennial on July 13–15, 2012, organized by Made in L.A. 2012 curator Ali Subotnick, which will play with the history of the iconic part of town. Find more details for the city-wide exhibition on Hammer’s website.
