KNOW HOPE OPENS FIRST SOLO SHOW IN LA SINCE 2009 AT KNOWN GALLERY
With November quickly approaching, artists are getting quite political with their work, and galleries are eating it up. Another street art gallery is hopping on the train, but in an interesting way. On November 10th, Known Gallery opens its solo exhibition of Know Hope, whose work has long seen the symbol of the flag used in a variety of ways. This latest series, called “The Weight,” takes that flying flag and applies it to a different kind of patriotism; the series is meant to explore all of the patriotisms in which mankind can partake as a whole. It’s an interesting way to spin the word which will be tossed around loosely for the next few weeks and surely for long after as we continue to argue which parts of our country demand loyalty and which don’t.
